Electric drive

Electric drives can achieve very high power densities. Their potential is essentially limited by limited heat dissipation and a limited temperature tolerance of sensitive components. Increased heat dissipation with even temperature distribution in the engine reduces mechanical stress and enables the implementation of lightweight geometries. In close cooperation with the design department, work is being done on holistic approaches to optimizing the cooling. Modern additive manufacturing processes allow various degrees of freedom when designing the cooling channels, such as manipulating the surface roughness or installing structures in the channel to intensify the heat transfer. These degrees of freedom are optimally utilized through numerical variant calculation and experimental validation.
